After the 70 days, part 35: 7 reasons why guys leave in the middle of the night.’ (He needed to poop.)

Recently I’ve experienced a guy sneaking out in the middle of the night after a couple rounds of amazing sex. Waking up alone in the bed, while I was pretty sure there was a guy next to me when I passed out, felt weird. Yet I like to have the bed for myself, so I couldn’t be bothered that much. It did got me thinking; Why would a guy leave in the middle of the night:

1. He doesn’t want to get serious and doesn’t want to give a false signal by staying the night.
Sex triggers the release of oxytocin, ‘the love hormone’. This hormone plays a huge role in pair bonding. After sex, people will have more of these hormones in their system. A guy might want to bail to prevent the bonding process to continue after the sex.

2. He can’t sleep with someone else in the bed.
Some people are light sleepers or have sleeping problems. The guy might really not be able to sleep when trying to sleep in  the same bed.

3. He has important things to do the next day.
Believe it or not, but it might just be that he needs to be fresh and ready for something the next day. Could be work or something else. Although sleeping is sleeping, it is more comfortable waking up in your own bed, at your own place and getting ready for whatever it is you need to do.

4. He needed to poop.
Haven’t we all been there? You stay the night at your crush’s place, but at some point, you need to do a number two. You try to fight it, but you know you’ll have to go eventually. You’re trying to pick the right moment. Is he or she in a deep enough sleep? Is it safe now? What if it makes too much noise and he/she wakes up? What if it smells really bad and he/she goes to the toilet after? I have to admit that I have gone home at night after sex a couple of times, even though I could have stayed the night, solely because I knew a number two was on it’s way.

5. His phone died and has no charger with him.
Yes people, most of us are phone freaks. Without a working phone, we feel vulnerable and insecure. The mobile phone has changed into our lifeline. Reason why I have a power bank with me nowadays.

6. You might actually have scared him away.
The sex might have been awful, or you were so drunk you’ve started throwing up, or you started jelling or crying.

7. He remembered he already has a girlfriend and it ain’t you.

As you can see, lots of scenarios are possible. Or sometimes even a combination of multiple. From my own experience, I can tell you, it doesn’t have to mean anything negative if a guy sneaks out in the middle of the night.
